JOB SUMMARY:

In Coordination with the Manager of Trauma and Director for the Center for Healthier Communities, the Manager of Injury Prevention is responsible for creating a vision and strategic plan for the implementation of a global organizational program that focuses on the application of injury control and prevention principles to meet the needs of the pediatric community and Trauma Services Level 1 requirements. The Injury Prevention Manager collaborates and provides leadership with both internal and external multidisciplinary teams to develop injury prevention programs and to monitor the overall injury prevention plan to ensure the quality, quantity, timeliness and effectiveness of programs and services. The Injury Prevention Program Manager periodically reviews and reevaluates the plan to assure that services are appropriate, cost-effective and consistently meeting the needs of the patients, pediatric population, organization and Trauma Program. The Manager will work on specific quality/process improvement projects with internal and external partners to demonstrate qualitative and quantitative improvements in care and reduction in reported injury. Ensure consistent program implementation in all hospital and community based programs. Provides mentorship to staff and community partners on best practice for injury prevention. Fiscalresponsibilities include: resource management, budget development, management of all Injury Prevention grants, contracts and donations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree

5years of experience

Proven Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of community and hospital based injury prevention programs

Successful grant funding procurement in federal, state and corporate funding and strong history in the implementation, evaluation and reporting on large scale programs

Experience developing, supervising and evaluating staff

Excellent oral and written communication skills; Consistent history of oral and poster presentations at the national level

Experience in leading multidisciplinary coalitions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctorate Degree (non MD)

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Proficiency in MS Office 2007 or newer
