Job Overview:


The HR Manager will work closely with the HR Director to support current and new HR processes and systems.  The HR Manager will oversee and ensure the accurate and timely processing of employee files, payroll, communication within the organization’s global headquarters (Toronto office), update and manage HR data, new hire orientation, Health and Safety Initiatives and administration of HR systems.


Job Responsibilities:


Onboarding and Employee Relations

  • Supports leadership across the centers of excellence and business units by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications.
  • Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
  • Support business leaders on all absence management cases including Short/Long Term Disability cases
  • On-boarding/off-boarding of employees and ensuring HR policies and new hire training is completed


HR Management

  • Establishing and driving action plans from insights from employee surveys
  • Manage the organization’s Reward and Recognition programs
  • Oversee the Health and Safety programs, coordinate and participate in Workplace inspections and track action items
  • Be responsible for strategic functions such as performance management and re-engineering of internal processes;
  • Project manage special projects (e.g. Take your Kids to Work Day, HR Group Orientations, Wellness, etc.)
  • Acting as a resource to the employees and managers on issues related to employee benefits terms and conditions and eligibility
  • Driving the culture of learning by arranging vendors, meeting logistics and on-site training, booking meeting rooms, sending email invites, ordering catering and arranging for AV equipment
  • Support the design, implementation and ongoing delivery of HR programs and initiatives
  • Manage communication within the Toronto-based global headquarters
  • Provide HRIS maintenance back-up and coaching to the Human Resources Coordinator
  • Assist with other HR projects and duties as required

Job Requirements



  • Undergraduatedegree or diploma in Human Resources or related field required; CHRL or CHRP designation is an asset
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive HR business partner experience across all key HR areas
  • Experience in managing HRIS (Workday) and payroll data
  • Knowledge of Employment Standards
  • Health and Safety certification an asset
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent technology skills; proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proactive, results-oriented, proven record of exemplifying sound decision making in support of organization’s policies and goals
  • Ability to recognize and react appropriately to confidential situations
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
