Responsibilities: Through leadership and direct functional support, the Human Resources Manager leverages the Corporate HR infrastructure and tools and has responsibility for applying well-rounded HR experience and skills to support our Indianapolis, IN and Nashville, TN business groups. In this position, you will exercise the usual authority of a site human resources manager related to business support needs and issues that may arise in employee life-cycle including, but not limited to, staffing, performance management, coaching, training, development, and recommendations for promotions, job and compensation reviews and terminations. Ensures procedures and assigned staff are in compliance with contract requirements, federal, state, and local regulations, and company policy.
•Provides full cycle Human Resources support to assigned locations and business groups.
•Effectively handles routine and complex employee relations matters, performance management, disciplinary actions, terminations, investigations, conflict mediation, and coaching of employees and managers in a variety of situations.
•Deploys recruitment strategies to successfully meet staffing plans, and support organization changes and talent management needs. May collaborate with or oversee recruiter(s) supporting assigned client group(s).
•Provides functional, operational support for HR staff at all levels. Provides coverage and backup support for other locations and business groups as needed.
•Provides coaching and guidance to management regarding employee actions by researching and collaborating with the HR management team. Contributes to the development, and update of policies, procedures, methods and guidelines. Communicates and reinforces understanding and interpretation of, as well as accountability for adherence to company policies and procedures.
•Collaborates with HR management team and to contribute to the development, continuous improvement and implementation of policies, procedures, workflow, programs, and other HR initiatives. May lead or co-lead projects.
•Provides an objective HR and business perspective to managing business concerns across all levels and functions.
•Collaborates with the Corporate subject matter experts and team for effective handling of leave of absence activity;
•Ensures successful completion of compliance training and other required activities of assigned locations and groups.
•Effectively uses technology for HR workflow and to support assigned groups.
•Performs other related duties as required or requested.
•Adheres to all company, departmental and client policies, procedures and requirements. Maintains clearances and licenses as required for position based upon assignment.
•Completes assigned training on time and with acceptable scores. Demonstrates understanding of training materials and applies knowledge in appropriate situations.
•Represents the company in the community, demonstrating a commitment to established vision and values. Actively promotes the company brand in business development and employee recruitment efforts.

•Proven ability to apply depth and breadth of knowledge of employee relations, employment law, and other areas of HR program principles, best practices, legal and regulatory requirements to successfully drive resolution to employee matters, change management, and manage HR programs.
•Understanding of Service Contract Act highly desired.
•Solid technical skills and competency working with various HRIS platforms (Workday experience highly desired). Intermediate skills in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
•Good understanding of basic project coordination principles and tools, and ability to effectively lead small projects or initiatives.
•Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
•Superior organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
•Ability to apply strong investigative and analytical skills to resolve complex issues, identify root causes and trends and develop recommendations.

Education and Experience: •Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, Human Resources or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•PHR/SPHR desired, but not required.
•Ability to obtain clearances as required by contract assignment.
•Depth and breadth of HR experience, generally 5 years or more, in a progressive professional Human Resources Manager or Sr. Human Resources Manager position, that includes responsibility for employee relations; staffing and responsibility for policies, programs and procedures.
•Experience managing exempt professional HR staff.
•Experience with the application of federal and state employment and leave laws and how they work together.
•Experience providing assessment, advice, and resolution of complex employee relations matters.
