SUMMARY: This position provides leadership andsupport in the planning, organization,supervision and coordination of the operations of Health Information Management (HIM). Supervises all staffresponsible for the following HIM functions: release of information and patient portalsupport, medical record analysis, physician record completion, electronic record maintenance, record retrieval,retention and storage including document imaging, off-site storage and archival of all medical records, dictation/transcription and various organizational registries including but not limited to Virtual PICU (VPS), California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative (CPQCC), Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium (PC4), Trauma Registry, Joint Commission Core Measures for Asthma (CAC), and Newborn Screening. Responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality and integrity of protected health information. Communicates and participates in quality improvement initiatives within the department and across theHealthcarenetworkas needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: College Degree - 4 year Related field or College Degree - 2 yearrequired. RHIA - Reg Health Information Admin or RHIT - Reg Health Information Tech required. Minimum five (5) years progressively responsibleexperience in Health Information Management required. Minimum three (3) years Management experiencepreferred. This role also requires strong leadership, relationship building and interpersonal skills while working effectively with a variety of groups and interests across organizational levels.
