The Manager, Global Media and Press Relations leads the development and implementation of a fully integrated global media and press strategy. Reporting to the Director, Media and Press Relations, the Manager, Global Media and Press Relations is responsible for increasing AES' engagement with the media and press to build the company's reputation through the strategic global communications campaigns. This individual will serve as the company's global spokesperson.


  • Lead the development and implementation of a fully integrated global media strategy, working with internal and external resources as needed
  • Build global editorial calendar
  • Create and manage strategic global communications campaigns, including the development key messaging, target audiences, tactics and implementation
  • Draft press releases and create supporting content
  • Cultivate strong relationships with the media
  • Respond to media requests for information
  • Identify opportunities to build AES' reputation and lead proactive media outreach efforts
  • Monitor press coverage and recommend opportunities for increased message reach
  • Set up and track media monitoring
  • Stay ahead of emerging media trends and channels, and update strategy accordingly
  • Coordinate with Investor Relations on campaigns and communications-related activities
  • Help to facilitate two-way communication and feedback sharing between the global, regional and local teams
  • Engage with and ensure coordination with other Communications practice areas such as Brand Marketing, Internal Communications, Creative Services, Digital, and Brand and Culture Development as needed
  • Facilitate best practice sharing across the global Communications team


  • BA or BS with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Business acumen with ability to understand complex issues
  • In-depth understanding of the company's strategy and direction for the future
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving and organizational abilities, big picture thinker
  • Strong project management, organizational, strategic planning, analytical, creative and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Pro at building effective relationships and influencing people
  • Proven ability to be a global team leader and player
  • Approach to work should be take charge, proactive, and very detailed-oriented
