Manager Global Payroll:  This unique role is responsible for managing the administration of International Payroll for the company and its subsidiaries.

Location for this role could be located in Greater Boston, Portland, Maine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Hands-on leadership of Global payroll processing, accounting, analysis and reporting in accordance with all applicable tax laws, policies and procedures resulting in accurate and timely payment and reporting of salaries, wages, incentives, and related payrolltaxes.  Staff works closely

with benefits and finance departments and external payroll and benefits vendors.

Manages global 3d party payroll vendors.

Serves as liaison with all divisions in the resolution of payroll problems.

Interprets company policies and government regulations in connection with payroll procedures and direct preparation of government filings and reports; ensures compliance to existing and new legislation/regulatory rulings and timely taxreporting and remittances.

Approves and processes information that determines rates of pay, new hire information and any changes/promotions to both current and new employees.

Processes all incentives, commission and Off-Cycle plan payouts with appropriate approvals.  

Ensure corporate policies are flawlessly administered and new policies adequately documented and communicated across all divisions and companies.

Ensure new benefits and changes that are required by the local governments as it relates to Payroll including computations, withholding, and deductions associated with net earnings are implemented.

Fnancial planning and forecasting process to develop and implement a sound budget/forecast for the Payroll department.

Develop and monitor internal controls to ensure integrity of the Payroll Administration processes.

Coordinate activity with Treasurer’s Department to ensure proper funding of payroll and payment of amounts withheld.

 Provide performance management and coaching to staff and is responsible for personal and professional development of staff including the development of goals and objectives for self as well as direct reports.

Ensures we have proper requisitions, contracts and agreements on file to support each plan.  Ensures plan documents are current and accurate for each plan and filed/communicated appropriately throughout the year.

Lead Payroll / Benefits Administration exploration of Shared Services Delivery

Create and manage global payroll delivery strategy, including evaluation of targeted BPO and SSC delivery mechanisms.

Lead transformation of the payroll & close liaison with benefits functions from a U.S. domestic to a global arena.

Develop a disciplined BPM framework and culture of continuous improvement utilizing LEAN and quality best practices.

Other Duties:

Evaluates, implements, maintains and documents all payroll and benefits related processes and compliance activities including SOX compliance. 

Supports internal and external audits.

Manages special projects at the request of the Director, C&B and SVP, HR.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

10+ years processing all aspects of Payroll along with strong Excel and Access database skills.

3+ years of management of international payroll requirements.

Solid vendor management experience.

Experienced applying Quality Management, LEAN and BPM techniques and managing with data.

Demonstrated successes in the application of structured problem solving in business operations and in managing large complex challenges.

Excellent communications skills, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively and efficiently; proven project management skills
