Job Purpose

As the Manager of the Freight Bill Audit team you oversee and manage the day to day workload and planning of the team. You manage towards timely and accurate processing of freight bills for the company’s transportation services by the team.

Freight billing problems or concerns, will be escalated to you as appropriate to resolve with either carriers, operations teams of finance. You drive a proactive agenda for continues process and system improvements and work along with IT to realize those improvements

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Interact with carriers to resolve issues
  • Identify process and system enhancements to improve productivity and accuracy of work
  • Maintain key carrier relation ships
  • Be a business partner to customer contract operation teams
  • Maintains the information flow between operations, freight audit and tariff administration to ensure timely and accurate processing of freight bills
  • Controls and updates aging reports from the carriers as required
  • Manage on-boarding of new customers
  • Drivers testing and development of process and system improvements
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

 

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business Administration or equivalent education and experience with a Master’s Degree in related field preferred
  • Five or more years of related experience
  • Familiar with finance and business rules within a fast paced environment
  • Oversee accuracy of data thru follow-up, audit and analysis
  • Strong financial analytical skills (statistical, quantitative, mathematical)
  • Advanced level in MS Office, Report writing software
  • Excel knowledge is essential.
  • Accurate typing and/or data entry skills required
  • Basic math skills required
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a demanding environment with tight deadlines
  • Attention to details is essential
  • Capable of acting in group or individually
  • Address and escalate issues where needed
  • Able to adapt communication to audience and/or intended result
  • Must be able to fluently read, write and speak English
