SUMMARY

The Financial Reporting Manager is a key team member of the RealPage Financial Reporting team and oversees the preparation of the company's quarterly and annual SEC financial statement filings. The SEC Financial Reporting Manager assists in monitoring and implementing new accounting pronouncements, financial statement analysis, and other ad hoc projects as needed, including accounting for business combinations, stock-based compensation, complex EPS structures, technical research, and other special projects. This role reports to the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare the quarterly and annual SEC financial statements, including footnote disclosures, and analyze publicly available disclosure and metrics to ensure alignment of external reporting with industry practices
  • Oversee the publication of monthly financial results and reporting packages in various formats for internal and external constituents
  • Supervise and assist in the Financial Reporting Analyst's period-end close activities, including preparation of reconciliations and journal entries and variance analysis
  • Maintain accounts and cost centers for reporting purposes
  • Maintain stock-based compensation-related records and prepare related journal entries
  • Research accounting literature and apply technical standards from new accounting pronouncements to produce position papers, accounting policies, and procedures. Lead or participate in the resolution of complex business issues and transactions, including debt and equity transactions, stock-based compensation, and business combinations.
  • Participate in special projects as required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 6 – 8 years minimum relevant accounting and finance experience; financial analysis desirable
  • Big 4 public accounting experience highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to provide innovation and improve processes
  • Must have the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Must be self-motivating, hard-working, analytical and proactive
  • Flexibility to work overtime when needed
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (Advanced), Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with enterprise and financial reporting systems such as Epicor, Cognos, Workiva, BlackLine and Solium desirable

EDUCATION

  • BA/BS with an emphasis in accounting or related field
  • CPA required
