Overview

The Manager-Field Marketing is responsible for providing management and leadership of the Field Marketing team. The person in this position will supervise the team, providing coaching, feedback and prioritization of work. The Manager will coordinate marketing strategy between Consumer and Commercial Marketing managers and Associate Managers in the field, ensuring consistent marketing, messaging and collateral are utilized across multiple channels and markets. The Manager will also be responsible for managing the overall Field Marketing budget, provide guidance on spend and develop goals to monitor effectiveness.

 The Manager-Field Marketing is responsible for implementing standard processes and procedures for the Field Marketing team. The Manager will partner with Project Management and Consumer and Commercial Marketing to provide the teams with strategic direction for implementation at the local level. These initiatives are focused on achieving sales and revenue targets within ILEC and cable markets. The Manager will also support the Field Marketing team with their daily responsibilities of seeking out local marketing activities and community development efforts within their assigned markets, This support includes ensuring activities will maintain TDS’s brands while also generating sales opportunities for consumer products. Part of the Manager’s role is to guide the Field Marketing team with standards for developing partnerships with Multiple Dwelling Unit (MDU) properties, developers/realtors, and other association-based entities to enable further product penetration of video and broadband services to customers in this important segment. The position is responsible relaying public relations opportunities and competitive threats in the communities supported by the team. The Manager will ensure the Field Marketing team continues to build internal relationships with and provides support in these key markets for Commercial Marketing team.

Responsibilities

Management of Field Marketing Team:

  • Supervise the Field Marketing team; provide coaching, feedback and prioritization of work.
  • Coordinate marketing strategy between Consumer Marketing managers and Associate Manager-Field Marketing; ensure consistent marketing, messaging and collateral are utilized across multiple channels and markets.
  • Manage overall Field Marketing expense budget.
  • Review, evaluate and approve local sponsorship calendar for each market.
  • Develops standards and processes to create efficiencies across Wireline and Cable businesses.
  • Builds relationships with peers in other departments to understand key growth initiatives.
  • Develops strategic plans and collaborates with team to determine best implementation.

Product Support and Competitive Information:

  • Works with team to learn about competitive threats and opportunities and funnels to consumer and commercial product management/development support teams.
  • Act as a conduit for the Consumer and Commercial Sales Teams to Product Management/Development with input on potential product and service modification and developments feedback.
  • Assist with Aid to Construction (ATC) and Land Development Agreements (LDA) as requested.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) OR 4+ years professional work experience.
  • 5+ years marketing or sales experience.
  • 2+ years management experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Other Qualifications:

  • Strong people management skills with the ability to manage people in remote markets.
  • Experience in strategic planning and process administration.
  • Background and/or working knowledge in marketing, management and/or sales.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Experience using PC applications.
