Job Description Summary:
In this newly created position reporting to the Associate Director, External Innovation and Alliance Management (ERAM), the Manager, ERAM will support our mission of enabling external research collaborations to enhance PTC’s pipeline, research capabilities, innovation, and realization of PTC’s corporate goals. This position requires an energetic, motivated, and highly organized individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to organize information, enable timely project execution, and maintain productive relationships with internal and external partners.
Works closely with the ERAM team in initiating and maintaining research-based collaborations with academic and industrial partners.
Builds and maintains portfolio analysis project databases.
Identifies, reviews, and contributes to recommendations based on scientific/technical merit and strategic fit of new R&D collaborations and in-licensing opportunities consistent with strategic direction of PTC.
Participates in the presentation of opportunities to review committees for progression to due diligence.
Works cross-functionally with internal departments and external partners to ensure collaborative spirit, alignment on goals, appropriate resource allocation, timely delivery of project outcomes.
Tracks and monitors timelines and activities to ensure alignment with target dates for deliverables.
Supports organizing and running events, joint team meetings, quarterly updates, executive briefings and meeting minutes.
Maintains regular, relevant, organized, clear and timely communication between all internal and external stakeholders.
Cultivates and maintains productive and positive relationships with internal partners and external collaborators.
* Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 8+ years’ experience of Alliance Management OR Opportunity Sourcing in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, contract research organization (CRO) or related environment OR equivalent experience and/or education
* Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required.
Understanding of pharmaceutical R&D and business development.
Experience sourcing and evaluating academic, pharmaceutical or biotech R&D opportunities.
Experience with supporting multi-partner alliances and collaborations.
Demonstrated track record of alliance management.
Excellent verbal and written communication and skills including presentation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without losing the sight of goals and key deliverables.
Excellent skills related to information organization – storage, filing, tracking, and sharing with project teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including MS Project and MS PowerPoint or similar.
Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.

Knowledge in CNS, Ophthalmology or Gene Therapy preferred
* Travel requirements
Up to 20 %. Travel to the PTC New Jersey office as needed.
