Job Summary
Under general direction, plans and manages the effective use of team resources. Leads a team of engineers to implement and/or maintain assigned technologies and/or projects. May provide input to the design/development process. This job is a manager.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for direct technical contributions and day-to-day management of an engineering team. Responsible for identifying solutions to challenging engineering problems. Actively participates in the execution and delivery of team products and services. Investigates issues and applies solid problem-solving skills. Responsible for communicating status, direction, and results of assigned work. Provides human resources management, including coaching, performance management, team development and growth, and workforce planning. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of progressive work experience in the technology space.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
5 years of progressive work experience in the technology space preferred. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Leadership experience preferred.

Developing understanding of how assigned technologies fit within broader technical environment. Communication skills: Strong written and oral communication. Able to actively engage with customers and business partners to solve problems and ensures products and services are utilized effectively and efficiently. Manages functional objectives and priorities supporting multiple assigned business units. Responsibilities are assigned with latitude for setting priorities and decision-making using generally accepted guidelines. Results are reviewed with management and assessed against predefined objectives. Leadership: Accountable to set technical goals, objectives and priorities for self and team members. Able to exhibit team leadership through the aptitude to provide leadership and guidance to staff and ability to manage initiatives and deliverables. Responsible for working with suppliers and customers as well as with other organizational units. Ability to influence upward as well as inspire and motivate team. Responsible for facilitating skill and career development for employees. Supports management decisions and acts as a change champion. Financial awareness: Should be well-versed in how budgets and chargebacks operate as related to designated technical responsibilities. Able to assess the financial impact of recommended designs/solutions. Works with Director and/or Sr. Director and Dedicated Financial Resource (DFR) to develop a portion of an overall budget subject to review and is responsible for expense control for the units assigned. Able to identify cost-reduction measures through innovation and creative solutions. Able to understand financial impacts of decisions specific to area; developing an enterprise perspective. Planning and project management: Demonstrates ability to identify critical project tasks and establish clear priorities while keeping the bigger picture in mind. Proposes action plans that are timely, realistic and positive. Sets appropriate goals for the area and monitors progress against the plan. Delegates to maximize organizational effectiveness. Able to manage time and competing priorities. Assesses and adjusts technical and/or operational direction as needed.
