  • Provides overall strategic engineering leadership: Validation Program, Capital planning and execution; New equipment design and development to support new product offerings; Process and equipment design for manufacturing locations; Scrap reduction program when needed.
  • Responsible for driving exceptional engineering response with respect to: Resolution of production equipment issues; Corrective and Preventative Action Items; Leads and/or assists in determination of product/process failure root causes potentially related to manufacturing processes.
  • Assists in proactive programs to raise standards in areas of: Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM); Control plans for equipment and facility failures; Emergency response planning; Safety and machine guarding.
  • Accountable for driving introduction of and skill development in: Use of DMAIC and DMADV processes for improvement projects and equipment design; Application of Lean and Six Sigma tools; Implementation of Statistical Process Control monitoring programs; Measurement and improvement in process capability and variation reduction.
  • Accountable for identifying best practices and industry standards for: Manufacturing Engineering; Equipment Design and Development; and assisting Maintenance Programs.
  • Manages Engineering department staff comprised of engineers and technicians.
  • Assists in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the engineering group.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and managing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering or related fields.
  • Ten or more years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Design Engineering with at least five years direct experience in providing engineering support to production.


  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in facility design and layout and/or cellular manufacturing.
  • Experience managing equipment design and development as relates to high speed manufacturing processes, automation, fixtures, set-up reduction.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma and TPM desirable. Green or Black belt training or certification


  • Leading programs at both the local and global level.
  • Negotiation and strategic planning skills.
  • Knowledge of management activities including budgeting, project planning, procurement, and specification development.
  • Knowledge of cGMP's and FDA regulations as pertains to process engineering preferable
  • Strong leadership, development, interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, and ability in leading, developing and managing cross-functional teams
