HCA’s Platform Services organization seeks a Manager of DevOps to help define, build, and integrate that Platforms that supports our Applications within our Portfolio. These solutions are critical as we look to enhance our ability to scale and support a growing list of applications and services required both from our internal and external consumers. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building large, scalable infrastructure, and is a creative thinker, problem solver, teacher, learner, and a fantastic manager of people.

In addition the ideal candidate should satisfy the follow criteria: 


Firm understanding of the principles of software development, including in-depth experience with a general purpose programming language such as C/C++

Experience with cloud infrastructure environments, preferably Azure

Experience supporting container-based orchestration and deployment systems such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

Experience using scripting languages (PowerShell, Ruby, Python, etc.), configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc.) and command execution frameworks

Solid understanding of networking, network routing, client-server architecture

Solid foundation in Linux / Unix and Windows

Strong interpersonal and teaming skills - ability to set and enforce process and influence technology leaders and engineers who are not direct reports.

Ability to operate in an agile, enterprise level environment

This is a hands-on Technical leadership role focused on developing (Building) next generation solutions to meet our needs of today and well into the future.



Bachelor's Degree preferred




5+ years' relevant work experience

  • Develop and Mentor DevOps engineering staff, in order to grow their abilities and capabilities
  • Work across the engineering team to influence software development to meet our operational needs and influence product and cloud engineering to improve the manageability, quality, and the supportability of our production services

  • Establish the service delivery culture for our business, building best-in class service engineering capabilities in the DevOps team.

  • Build and maintain a resilient, secure, and efficient SaaS application platform to meet established SLAs

  • Automate deployment, monitoring, management and incident response

  • Monitor site stability and performance and troubleshoot site issues

  • Scale infrastructure to meet rapidly increasing demand

  • Manage cross-functional requirements working with Engineering, Product, Services, and other departments

  • Develop and improve operational practices and procedures
