Provide subject matter expertise and develop a Demand Planning center of excellence that is continually monitoring the state-of-the-art and keeping demand planning strategic vision current
Lead the creation of cross-functional connections between product, demand plan, inventory plan, allocation plan, finance budget, marketing goal, and sales goal
Own and maintain demand plan on a 12-month rolling basis for self and on behalf of team for given customer/brand combination, where demand plan is defined as customer demand net of projected retail sales, customer projected inventory, corporate projected inventory, and dynamic safety stock.
Position is within a 5 to 8 member organization of demand planning, reporting to Sr. Director of Demand Planning
Collaborate with Manager at the beginning of every year to set KPI goals, process/reports improvement goals, and take end-to-end responsibilities on projects to collaborate with I.T. & other relevant teams.
Lead supply chain reconciliation process, challenge assumptions/status-quo where and as needed, negotiate and influence cross-functional peers in inventory planning, allocation planning, marketing, sales, and finance, to then continuously escalate unresolved supply chain risks to senior management
A Day in the Life of Demand Planning Manager:
Lead a team of demand planners to deliver demand plan for assigned set of customer/brands
Collaborate with manager to advance demand planning best practices, set strategic and tactical goals for the demand planning organization, and drive follow through of major milestones
Act as the voice of demand planning team in all cross-functional discussions within and outside of North America regional responsibility
Drive culture of exception management by proactively identifying major issues and opportunities around demand and supply
Drive culture of analysis and execution taking ownership of identified issues in demand planning to drive quantifiable solutions and positive business results
Lead monthly demand-supply reconciliation in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Inventory Planning, Global Planning, and Allocation Planning
Participate in forecast accuracy goal-setting and be the active leader in forecast accuracy improvement
