The Database Administration Manager will join the existing team of experienced DBA’s who are responsible for the support of a number of databases, principally on DB2,Oracle and redshift
Lead the DBA team to identify and build out necessary long-term strategy for the team
The DBA Manager will perform the duties of a Lead level DBA, and be responsible for coordination all of the daily maintenance, monitoring, performance analysis, trouble shooting, problem resolution, and user assistance required for database environment, on premises as well as off premises (AWS)
The DBA Manager will manage onsite DBA , coordinate and guide on-shore and off-shore DBA’s with daily maintenance tasks as well as provide guidance with all technical aspects of database administration, including installation, configuration, patching, maintenance, backup, restore and decommissioning
Work with application development team to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
The DBA manager must have the ability to work in multiple types of databases; DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, Redshift, Aurora
The DBA manager will work with a cross-section of internal IT organizations, systems analysts and developers, outside consultants as well as internal management teams
Participate in regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis and predicting future database resource requirements.
Develop database documentation such as standard operating procedures and knowledge transfer documents, as well as provide clear instruction to DBA’s to provide such documentation
Experience with NoSQL databases i.e. HBase, MongoDB and Cassandra are a plus
Strategy & Planning
Maintains knowledge in the various Cloud\Virtual computing platforms, automation technologies
Maintains Cloud\Virtual environments – helping to implement the tools and technologies used in automating our environment.
Participates in ITSM management
Assures that activities align with business needs and objectives
Works with Architecture and Operations to maintain a stable, secure, and scalable environment.
Knowledgeable in troubleshooting and resolving complex problems.
Maintain defined metrics and standards for infrastructure component performance.
Technical knowledge in configuration management, testing and technical documentation.
Monitor partner performance, escalating when performance falls below an acceptable threshold.
Ensures change management processes are followed

10+ years’ experience as an DB2/Oracle and SQL Server Database Administrator at the senior level
Experienced in large database implementation and support
Experience performing 24x7 production supports for Oracle or SQL Server environments
Experience with AWS Databases
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle load utilities
Capable of leading and supporting a team through multiple independent projects simultaneously
Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal associates and external customers
Guide DBA’s through proven diagnostic problem solving and solution development capabilities
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor degree with 3-5 yrs experience or 8+ yrs professional experience.
