The Manager of Data Strategy & Operations will be a key member of a team with a passion for driving scale, effectiveness, standardization, and productivity using strategic leadership, data-based problem solving, and process improvement methodologies.

You will be responsible for identifying unstructured problems and opportunities, and lead the development of comprehensive strategies and solutions. The manager should be able to analyze large amounts of data to identify the trend and root cause of various business problems and use this analysis to support improvement proposals. The Manager will need to partner with colleagues in Data Quality and Governance, Global Distribution Strategy & Operations, Global Sales Strategy and other teams from across the company to deliver data improvement projects that enable Salesforce to meet its strategic goals and continued growth.

You should have a proven record of innovation, project management, and strategic project delivery with experience at a top-tier management consulting company and/or at a fast-growing technology company. You should be comfortable operating in a fast paced, unstructured "start-up" style, team-oriented organizational structure while leading diverse stakeholder groups.


  • Partner with strategy leaders in the organization, influence decision making and lead the meetings
  • Investigate data issues, perform deep-dive analyses, propose and execute solutions, and define IT project requirements for issue resolution
  • Collaborate and innovate with teams across Salesforce, including Sales, Support, Legal, IT, HR, Finance, and Tech & Product
  • Lead multiple projects maintaining responsibility for project management, team leadership, data analysis, strategy development, implementation, training, and adoption
  • Model, analyze, prioritize and improve processes using data-driven decisions, and standardize processes where applicable
  • Create business cases and develop strategic recommendations for senior executives
  • Understand business processes, the flow of data within and between processes, and recommend process improvements for better data quality and effectiveness
  • Work with IT teams to clarify business process and data needs and provide guidance on the implementation of data and process-related IT projects
  • Perform data analysis using Salesforce Reports, Excel and SQL

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical field such as STEM, Business Administration, or Economics
  • 3+ years of professional experience designing and managing cross-functional projects to drive efficiency and scale
  • 2+ years of business / systems analyst experience
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Proficient in PostgreSQL (Preferred) or SQL
  • Understanding of Salesforce object model and basic Admin concepts
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and drive initiatives in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong experience developing detailed functional, system and program requirements
  • Experience working and communicating with both information technology and strategic business teams
  • Experience in developing strong relationships with top senior executives to gain their sponsorship and partnership
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, lead and partner across functions and teams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing priorities and projects
  • Demonstrated self-starter
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to tell compelling stories and explain complex issues in simple ways
  • Interest in data and data analysis

  • Prior experience in managing B2B customer data quality preferred but not required
  • Prior experience with third party enrichment tools such as, hoovers preferred but not required
  • Prior experience with Master Data Management (MDM) process preferred but not required
