Manager, Data Science at Alteryx, Inc in Boston, MA

Overview

Our expanding global Data & Analytics team drives data science at Alteryx. We partner with internal lines of business to influence strategy and decision-making, and empower customers by providing education and thought leadership on implementing analytics in their environments.

You will help software engineers understand how to improve our products, partner with the sales and marketing teams as they work to make the sales process more effective and efficient, and ensure that Alteryx lines of business are effectively using Alteryx and other data science tools to deliver amazing results. In addition, the team will be working to drive our Alteryx for Good mission, helping schools and citizen data scientists around the world become more data literate, more capable answering questions and more able to solve problems. This specific role will help grow and lead the team and set the pattern for how data science will be delivered at Alteryx. It is a meaningful and exciting role to be in!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leadership - Lead a team of 3-5 data scientists supporting internal lines of business
• Coaching - Provide coaching and guidance on data science best practices, not only to your immediate team but also to the greater organization
• Design - Create robust analytic and data science products in key areas (e.g. Sales, Marketing, HR etc.)
• Success - Proven track record in implementing a wide array of analytic techniques including Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Creating Value - Ability to partner with line of business leadership and execute on project portfolio aimed at business value
• Creativity - Partnering with sales and engineering to design prototypes and vertical solutions to improve the current Alteryx product offering
• Community - Develop and deliver training curriculum on data science leveraging Alteryx and other tools (e.g. Tableau)

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years’ relevant work experience
• Strong experience with Alteryx, R, or Python
• Strong experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.)
• History of working across broad number of domains (e.g. Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance etc.)
• Strong people leader with the ability to motivate and influence

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree
• 3+ years’ leadership experience in an official or unofficial capacity
