This is an exciting, varied and challenging role with plenty to get involved in. As a valued member of the Anomaly Detection and Data Analytics team, the successful candidate will be critical to enhancing our existing processes in anomaly detection, for market data across multiple food and fashion industries. The successful candidate oversees the anomaly detection processes; assessing limitations, identifying enhancements to current systems, as well as designing and/or deploying additional processes as necessary. The end goal is increasing data accuracy and efficiency.
In this role the successful candidate will stay aligned with corporate and client data needs in order to actively identify and pursue needed changes to our data quality process. You will interact with several key cross-functional groups across the organization including Client Development, Data Collection, Product Management, Operations, and Research Science to achieve objectives. Ample opportunity to get involved with other functions and have a meaningful impact. This will involve addressing data quality concerns, communicating data quality decisions and conducting validation exercises. There’s loads to get involved in, so we’re looking for someone who:
Will be based in Port Washington, NY.
Determine key components of the data quality process and help define the standards of data quality.
Assess, enhance and improve current systems and/or processes in place for anomaly detection.
Support the publication of data quality metrics and ensure the accuracy of published market data, syndicated measures and market deliverables.
Create and maintain documents related to data quality reporting requirements, specifications and methodology.
Support initiatives to improve data quality and the anomaly detection processes.
Query datasets to conduct root cause analysis that help identify data issues and or inconsistencies; create preventative measures to avoid future risks.
Help identify outliners within projected data by analyzing consumer spending and purchasing patterns across multiple industries.
Investigate and resolve data discrepancies as needed, incorporating permanent solutions where applicable.
Drive process improvement by identifying and deploying changes that will improve quality and/or efficiency.
Provide ongoing reporting that manipulates data in order to draw conclusions, review impact analysis and identify data anomaly’s.
Assist in the development and maintenance of training materials, process documentation and client ready materials.
Create anomaly detection documentation, translating data quality needs into a procedure that can be interpreted and followed by multiple teams.
Lead new process improvements efforts that enhance data quality in the market and for clients.
Regularly evaluate process performance relative to objectives and implement enhancements or retirement.
BA/BS or equivalent
5+ years or more in similar role
Experience in process design, process improvement, data quality or data analysis
Experience querying data in SQL language
Proven success working in Tableau, Alteryx or equivalent
Expert in all MS Office products. (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong understanding of data analysis and interpretation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and project management with evidence of relevant experience desirable
Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
Strong problem solving and decision making skills
Strong experience working with POS and/or Consumer data (preferably in syndicated and/or custom research)
Prior experience with NPD software and data a plus
Prior experience with General Merchandise industries or Food a plus.
