Job Description

Support the Chief Strategy Officer in addressing the most important strategic questions across Meritor. Includes working with Meritor’s businesses to provide market and competitive analysis, strategic direction, and thought leadership in order to drive growth and operational excellence.

Job Requirements

•Support the corporate strategic planning process
•Develop insightful market and competitive analysis across all markets in which Meritor competes (markets, customers, consumers, competitors, disruptors, regulations, etc)
•Evaluation and monitoring of industry trends and development of recommended strategies
•Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to support actionable strategic direction, investment prioritization, and strategy communication
•Gather external and internal data from a wide variety of sources to inform the strategic analysis process
•Proactively identify and assess new market opportunities for growth, and develop strategies to capture them
•Identifying the impact of changes in the external environment on strategy & determine potential courses of action
•Leverage team and business resources to analyze a business problem and propose recommendations


•Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field, such as engineering, economics, finance, or business. MBA required, but exception can be made for another advanced degree and significant years of experience
•5 or more years of cumulative business experience in strategy development roles whether in corporate or strategy consulting settings
•Experience in the automotive sector or other industrial preferred
•Demonstrated track record of effectively developing business growth strategies and action plans, with past experiences likely including market segmentation analysis, business and product portfolio analysis, competitive analysis, and identification of opportunities and threats
•Given the high level of exposure to senior management, effective interpersonal skills, confidence, poise, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must

•Will vary based on business demands, but is estimated at 20-25%
