The Manager, Corporate Partnerships (MCP) serves on the Development Team for Girls Who Code (GWC), the international non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology. The MCP reports to the Director of Partnership Development and works to establish and reach major fundraising goals on behalf of GWC. The main responsibility of this role is to secure sponsorships from corporations. The MCP will leverage an existing prospect pipeline to maintain, grow and secure new gifts from leading corporations locally, nationally and internationally. They will also be responsible for preparing sponsorship presentation decks, agreements/contracts and assets/deliverables for partners. The ideal candidate should have experience building multifaceted sponsorships that include program support, employee volunteerism, events, public relations, social media, cause marketing, etc. You have strong skills building a pipeline, strategizing cold solicitations, prioritizing, pitching, presenting, writing, closing deals and negotiations.


  • Assist the VP of Development and the Director of Corporate Partnerships in the overall fundraising goals for corporate sponsorships
  • Directly raise approximately $5M through new corporate partners to support Girls Who Code mission and vision
  • Move prospects through various stages from prospecting to gift secured, negotiating benefits and giving levels, and finalizing MOU's
  • Manage database to facilitate moves management with prospects
  • Create/manage weighted prospect list
  • Collaborate across departments to relay opportunities and expectations to/from prospects and GWC teams
  • Work with the Programs team to discover areas of potential programming growth that can lead to sponsorships
  • Collaborate with other development team members who have corporate leads
  • Facilitate discovery and pitch meetings for VP, Development and Director of Corporate Partnerships
  • Help build and maintain corporate prospect pipeline, conducting relevant research on giving history, trends, capacity, and executive moves
  • Prepare fact sheets, concept papers, powerpoint presentations, email solicitations and other collateral for potential funders


  • 5+ years as a Development professional with history of soliciting, cultivating and closing new corporate gifts of minimum $100,000 (preferred experience $500K+)
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proven track record in closing gifts
  • Strong verbal and written skills, comfortable pitching and presenting
  • Ability to use creative thinking in sponsorship development
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and writing persuasive emails/proposals
  • Knowledge of/connections to corporate philanthropy landscape
  • Knowledge of donor databases
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and eager to work in a collaborative, team environment
  • Self-starter, motivated, and able to manage multiple deadlines

  • Bachelors degree preferred
