Job Description POSITION FUNCTION & SCOPE: The Manager, Corporate Communications contributes to the development, management and execution of Del Monte's corporate communications strategy and general initiatives. This position is focused approximately 80% on internal communications and 20% on external communications/corporate marketing. This position interacts primarily internally with senior leadership, across all business units for the Company and parent Company, resulting in broad exposure to all aspects of a consumer packaged foods company.   To be successful, the candidate must be hands-on, experienced communicator, analytical, strategically-minded, output-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment.   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Internal Communication Strategy Development and Implementation

  • In collaboration with the Senior Manager, Corporate Responsibility and Corporate Communications, the Communications Manager:
    • Develops internal communications strategy and execution to deliver on Del Monte's brand promise and drive brand awareness for employees.
    • Develops internal communications campaigns based on values, strategic objectives and pillars
    • Identifies the tone, cadence and placement of communications per audience and channel.
    • Identifies appropriate channels for communications and develops project plan, including calendar, for each communication channel such as the intranet, email, and internal social media platform.
    • Leads employee communication aspects of community partnerships, to include communication planning, events, fundraising, and logistics.

Event and Content Management

  • In collaboration with the Senior Manager, Corporate Responsibility and Corporate Communications, the Communications Manager:
    • Provides leadership communications support (talking points, speeches, decks).
    • Creates publications and electronic media used in the internal communications program, including emails, portal stories, videos, speeches and presentations for employees.
    • Maintains current corporate website and Sharepoint content. Contributes thought leadership on internal portal best practices, makes recommendations for ongoing growth and improvement.
    • Manages the development and execution of all-employee meetings, webcasts, town hall meetings, etc.
    • Creates and develops communications collateral, including website copy, videos, annual reports, corporate brochures, fact sheets, presentations, etc.
    • Develops and maintains knowledge of social media tools for potential application in internal and external communication strategies.
    • Manages and maintains corporate communications' digital assets via digitalasset management system.

Builds Positive Relationships

  • Develops and nurtures relationships with key internal stakeholders, including HR, Marketing, Operations, etc.
  • Develops communication plans for key internal stakeholders and responds to ad hoc requests.
  • Coordinates with international parent company and related parent communications.
  • Manages key relationships with vendors and/or outside resources (e.g. photographers, production companies, video editors, writers, etc.).

Supports External Communications

  • Manages media relations and crisis communications plan with third party and internal customer service team.
  • Manages daily/weekly/monthly media monitoring reports in third party system.

Other duties as assigned  QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degreerequired.
  • At least 6 years of related experience in corporate communications and/or public relations (in-house or agency), strategy consulting, investor relations, journalism or a related field.
  • Experience in a related industry planning and executing internal communications programs a strong plus.
  • Strong oral communication, written communication, and analytical skills.
  • Uncompromising attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to comfortably and effectively manage down, across and up among a variety of internal stakeholders.
  • Independent, self-starter with high energy level and strong drive for continuous improvements.
  • Strong customer orientation and ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task and change direction quickly in a deadline-driven, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to synthesize business, technical and scientific concepts into understandable, effective employee communication and media messaging.
  • Experience with and ability to effectively manage vendors, agencies and partners.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent project management skills; ability to oversee large projects under varying levels of supervision.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint.
  • Available to travel as needed.
