The Manager, Consulting Services will report into a Director of Services and will be responsible for a team of consulting resources supporting customer project delivery as well as supporting Field Sales Managers in driving revenue. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the implementation of 3 to 5 simultaneous projects
  • Develop and/or review estimates and estimating assumptions for project efforts, costs and schedules leveraging established estimating models, best practices, and past experience
  • Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed and are delivered on time and within the budget outlined in the SOW
  • Work with the client project manager to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes and ensure compliance with agreed to checkpoints
  • Represent the services delivery team at customer executive meetings and assist in obtaining buy-in from senior management and customers.  Serve as an executive escalation point to address service delivery concerns
  • Ensure the client takes advantage of Flexerabest practices
  • Be a liaison for professional services when interacting with sales and/or development
  • Identify opportunities to position other service offerings
  • Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completing their implementation
  • Assist in the transition of the customer from professional services to product support 
  • Implement and drive services and sales processes as they relate to customer engagement responsibilities within solution selling, product sales and project delivery methods
  • Ensure that the sales team is equipped to support typical presales responsibilities from a services perspective (customer meetings, leading workshops/assessments, driving & gathering customer requirements, responses to RFPs, etc.)
  • Lead all team functions, including staffing, recruiting, team meetings/calls, compensation planning
  • Support the Performance Management process with the services team; including activities such as goal planning, professional development, and annual reviews.   Ultimately responsible for team motivation, retention, career planning.
  • Act as a customer facing resource who is capable of personally getting involved in sales opportunities, customer projects and long term relationships
  • Provide thought leadership in helping to expand and refine service offerings and drive productivity initiatives such as knowledge sharing, project management best practices and IP re-use
  • Attain revenue and margin targets 
  • Ability to travel up to 75%

Education and Experience: 

  • BA or BS degreerequired.  MBA or post-graduate degreepreferred (education would ideally be a combination of technical and business qualifications)
  • More than 10 years delivering application solutions to the enterprise, including a minimum of 5 years within the software and/or license management industry
  • Has minimum of 5 years of experience managing a Professional Services practice, including full responsibility for revenue attainment and profitability management
  • Detailed understanding of software development and sales required
  • Detailed understanding of technical support and account management for enterprise customers required.
  • Previous experience at a global consulting organization a plus (Accenture, Deloitte, etc.)
  • Previous experience at a top 100 software company preferred

Skills and Knowledge: 

  • Previous revenue attainment and P&L management required.
  • Experience working in flexible, open-ended environments with rapidly changing goals and challenges
  • Excellent people management and development skills
  • Strong customer facing and relationship management skills with appropriate negotiation and influencing skills
  • Experience interacting with senior management teams
  • Enthusiasm to travel and work within North America
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Flexibility to deliver within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
  • PMP/PMI certification is a strong plus
