The incumbent supports the Banks mission through effective sales and service leadership, targeted business development efforts and community involvement. The Manager Commercial Banking (MCB) is responsible for developing and managing commercial and business banking relationships in accordance with FCBs core values and prescribed sales process in an assigned area. The MCB I may manage a portfolio of larger, complex relationships. In addition, the incumbent manages a team of 2-5 Commercial and Business Bankers to maximize business development efforts and positively impact profitability in the assigned area. The MCB may also manage a team of Banker Assistants.
Sales Management: Develop & implement a commercial banking team sales plan in alignment with Area financial objectives. Manage sales efforts of a team of Commercial and/or Business Bankers, utilizing the Banks sales management process and tools to maximize business development efforts and positively impact profitability. Inspect pipeline information and team sales activities to include joint calls and coach to impact team member performance. Manage bankers progress against growth, profitability, and production expectations.
Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of larger, complex credits and provide financial solutions that address client needs. Maintain high level of product knowledge to enable the sale of lending, deposit and business services products, and the referral of retail and wealth products. Prepare credit packages for review and approval by credit partners. Perform credit analysis of financial data, write credit memos, recommend loan structure, pricing and packaging. Perform loan servicing duties to ensure conformity with loan terms and conditions. Assist in collection of loan delinquencies in a timely manner. Interview loan applicants and originate loans for centralized approval. Recommend appropriate denied loans for exception approval.
Management: Exercise the usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, training, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
Credit: Review banker loan packages and coach bankers on loan policy, credit structures, and loan request packaging. Partner with banker and credit partners to secure appropriate decision. Review recommendations for loan exceptions and present for approval if appropriate. Monitor loan servicing to ensure conformity with loan terms and conditions.
Risk Mitigation/Compliance: Monitor the areas commercial loan portfolio performance and direct the actions necessary to ensure compliance with goals/standards for watch list credits, charge offs, loan documentation exceptions, loan servicing expectations and CRA activity. Escalate problem loans as needed. Manage team to successful completion of all required compliance and credit training and adherence to all compliance policy.
Partnerships: Maintain a productive working relationship with Business Services partners and other corporate divisions, bringing sales partners into client relationships as needed to manage the total financial services relationship for our customers and prospects.
Community: Represent the Bank in various civic and community functions to further enhance the Bank's image and development of additional business.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree with a minimum of 8 years financial services management or business lending experience selling financial services and products.
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 12 years financial services management or business lending experience selling financial services and products.
Strong financial analysis skills.
Other Preferred Qualifications:
At least 2 years management experience
