Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this position is to provide day-to-day oversight of the clinical enterprise and to monitor the fiscal health of the entity. The position is part of the Nursing Clinical Enterprise and reports to the Vice Dean of Practice and Engagement and the Associate Dean of Finance.
Oversees all aspects of clinical operations including the daily management, planning and implementation of service delivery. Monitors ongoing performance of clinical operations. Manages the day-to-day operations in compliance with established policies and procedures. Ensures employee conformance with established practices. Ensures training of staff as needed in electronic health record. Identifies potential problem areas, develops systems for objectively monitoring performance, develops systems improvements. Maintains open lines of communication with all practice staff and evaluates staff according to HOP policies.
Reviews and approves expenditures of requisitioning departments to ensure conformance with budgetary limitations. Maintains records of expenses, inventories and budget balances. Bills for contract services.
Prepares budget to actual variance analysis explanation of activity with estimated budget. Assists in the installation of budgetary control systems for the Faculty Practice Plan and the Office.
Utilizes computer to input, retrieve, or display budget information and perform variance analysis. Prepares monthly financial review reports and reviews these reports with the Associate Dean of Finance.
Prepares reports that demonstrate provider productivity. Evaluates no show rate and develops a system that addresses the rate.
Analyzes, compares and evaluates various courses of action to manage and monitor operating budgets. Under the guidance of the Manager of Financial Planning making adjustments and decisions to correct and improve financial operations.
Actively participates in development of business plans and proformas for clinical enterprise expansion and monitors new business for alignment with the institutionally approved business plan.
Supervises monitoring of inventory and stock for compliance.

Monitors cash deposits daily.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or health related field required, MBA preferred.
At least six years related experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
Proficient in the use of MS Excel and MS Word.
Experience using EPIC or other electronic health records and able to access reports, template requests, complete templates as appropriate and resolve other EHR issues.
Knowledgeable in purchasing within an academic institution and compliance with established policies and procedures.
Ability to work in matrix reporting and able to analyze financial and practice reports.
Use of PeopleSoft and Hyperion is critical.
Experience preparing operating budgets and financial projections for units.
Experience developing business plans and proformas for clinical enterprise expansion.
Demonstrated ability to provide oversight for a clinical practice is preferred.
