We are looking for a sharp, enthusiastic professional to become part of the energy and join our team where you will engage in our efforts to improve patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency.
Manage the day to day operations of a growing team of Clinical Documentation Specialists responsible for reviewing medical records to facilitate the accurate representation of the severity of illness and risk of mortality. This involves extensive record review, interaction with physicians, HIM professionals, and nursing staff.
Monitor daily census to ensure appropriate and effective coverage
Provide clinical support to team members and assist staff with query escalation and appropriate DRG assignment/query opportunities
Analyze individual staff performance periodically, evaluate trends and provide feedback
Run daily/monthly reports to track goals and trend statistics
Responsible for monthly reconciliation reports
Represent team in administrative management meetings to present statistical data and provide support to hospital-wide initiatives
Work collaboratively with HIM management to facilitate resolution of documentation and coding discrepancies
Develop and implement plans for education of physician, nursing and ancillary staff on documentation improvement.
