Job Summary
This position will work in partnership with Customer Experience and Business Intelligence Professionals to provide analyze voice of customer and related data that will inform and improve products, processes and behaviors to help achieve positive business outcomes. 

Positions within this job family explore and profile data, draw business inferences, complete analyses and clearly articulate findings for different target audiences. This position performs accountabilities undergeneral supervision. It is an intermediate level role, requiring solid previous experience in Descriptive Analytics. Incumbents are accountable for performing core tasks of Descriptive Analytics (the exploration and investigation of past and current business performance). 

This position will not have any direct reports, but may lead others to complete core tasks.

Definition of General Supervision: Incumbents are told what to do, but not how to do it. Incumbents have some discretion on work accountabilities.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Applies descriptive analytics to analyze data and validate assumptions, and to understand and articulate results to various audiences.

Identifies, selects and extracts relevant data from various internal and external sources. Independently manipulates raw data sets into information fit for analysis, monitors data to recognize patterns, and analyzes trends. Presents analysis and recommendations to business partners. 
Develops reporting to monitor business critical results, and transitions to appropriate area for ongoing production i.e. information development and or data management. Provides required analysis, through partnership with Customer Experience and Management Information Professionals. 
Contributes to completing reasonability and validation tests using general business knowledge. Leads and participates in the peer review process and utilizes standardized peer review best practices. 
Utilizes established best practices around Descriptive Analytics. May provide input into best practices. 
May provide guidance to others on assignments. Manages assigned projects independently.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent education and 3 years analytics experience or 4 years analytics experience.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or related preferred. 
Typically has 4-6 years of experience in Descriptive Analytics or related field. 
4+ years working successfully with Microsoft office products and software/programming applications (data visualization, statistics related, etc). 
General knowledge of Descriptive Analytic practices and processes. 
General knowledge related to Voice of Customer programs including survey design and text miningpreferred.
General knowledge of Insurance products/concepts preferred. 
Previous experience leading others preferred. 
General knowledge of the main features of the collection of data and the relationship of data elementsto each other.
