Responsible for the management of one or more small to medium-sized, moderately complex projects. Middle level management in systems analysis and programming functions. Typically manages and mentors supervisors, project leads and/or technical staff.
Works under general direction of senior level management. Responsible for the operational efficiency of the Business Intelligence environment.
•25% Coordinates systems analysis and application development activities through direct and indirect staff.
•25% Directs development teams in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning and standard development practices.
•25 % Manages one or more cross-functional projects of small to medium complexity. Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner and has an in-depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing and implementing systems analysis and application development projects and programs.
•15% Human resource management responsibilities (e.g., hiring, performance management).
•5% Participates in budgeting and capital equipment processes and quality improvement activities for the development organization.
•5% Participates in software and services vendor management
•Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
•Typically has 7 to 10 years of IT and business work experience including 1 to 3 years in managing team(s) in systems analysis and/or programming functions.
•Must possess advanced knowledge and proficiency in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.
•Outstanding communications skills; able to articulate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences.
•Ability to analyze complex situations and develop creative solutions.
•Working experience with SDLC and deliverables associated with each phase.
•Experience in estimating resources and developing delivery plans.
•Project management skills; ability to multi-task and keep all projects on schedule.
•Must possess advanced knowledge and experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
•Must have experienceworking with industry-leading Business Intelligence and database technologies e.g. MicroStrategy, Cognos, Business Objects, Informatica, ODI, Teradata, Netezza, or Exadata.
