Position Description

Duties: Responsible for installation, operation and on-going support for Meditech and other software applications that directly support the operations of the Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion. Works closely with the Executive Director of the LCRP to establish work priorities and make staff assignments as appropriate to meet the requirements of the LCRP as well as the National Cancer Institute Community Cancer Center Program Pilot (NCCCP) deliverables for the national cancer biomedical informatics grid. Serves as a project manager on all projects assigned to assure all projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Oversees the work of staff associated with the ERS, Oncology Meditech Module, and other staff as assigned to this section which includes staff associated with NCCCP deliverables on a state and national scale. Ensures that all software applications are maintained and supported at an acceptable level for all users including physician practices that utilize the Oncology Meditech Module. Identifies, documents and resolves or reports software problems to software vendors as appropriate for resolution. Requirements: Bachelordegree in computer science or health care related field preferred or equivalent work experience or combination of college and specialized training in supporting Meditech applications required. Minimum of five (5) years of outstanding performance as an Application Support Analyst; successful experience as a project leader; broad knowledge of major health system functions and organizational relationships; and knowledge of procedures, policies, and practices related to operating and using information systems required.
