Department of Medicine, Accounting Manager


The accounting manager will be responsible for accurate and compliant accounting across the eleven divisions of the department of medicine, and the central administrative office. Functional areas include accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, P card compliance. Fund types will include clinical, state, facilities and administration, trust funds and philanthropic dollars. The accounting manager will oversee contract accounting (current count 136), transactional processing, account reconciliation and standard reporting. The accounting manager will work with the Finance Director to establish and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations consistent with university, healthcare system and state requirements. Collaborates with disbursement services, SOM finance and business office.

UNC Health Care is a not-for-profit medical system owned by the State of North Carolina and based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It provides services throughout the Triangle and North Carolina. Construction of a new $20 million office/hospital complex in Hillsborough, NC began in April 2011. In July 2015, many services are now offered at the Hillsborough campus, including an Emergency Room and General Surgery.
