SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the general accounting function, primarily the accuracy and maintenance of the ledger accounts and the resultant financial statements.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure that all local taxing issues, general accounting and financial reporting are administered within policy, procedures and guidelines and regulatory requirements. Direct and monitor a variety of accounting activities to ensure the organization's financial resources are managed in accordance with accounting principles and comply with all relevant regulations, laws and standards. Participate in complex general accounting projects including budgeting, reporting and the planning process. Ensure the appropriate financial and administrative controls are in place within the department. Responsible for administration of accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting and related systems within the operating group. Review financial reports and accounting statements to ensure accuracy. Assist functional area managers develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports and manage their financial responsibilities. Assign responsibilities to subordinates, direct their activities, evaluate their work and advises them on procedures and objectives.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE: 5 years managerial experience within management reporting and administration or full service accounting department; Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant is preferred.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, and Excel and its analysis tools, such as Power Pivot in addition to advanced proficiency with accounting systems, such as Oracle

COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to prepare, monitor and administer budgets, as well as the ability to perform financial analysis. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to develop, improve and streamline processes to meet established goals and objectives. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees. Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology. Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures. Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts, principles and practices of change management.

OTHER: CPA/MBA preferred.

JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
