Experienced engineer to serve on the Integrated Mission Operations Contract (performs NASA human spaceflight operations at Johnson Space Center) with responsibility for providing Systems Engineering for contract Management Information System (MIS) sustainment and development activities. This position is responsible for helping lead a team of MIS developers in client side solution development and assistance/troubleshooting user/customer issues, providing software testing and quality assurance, and supporting, maintaining, and documenting software/system functionality.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk assessment, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for the Integrated Mission Operations Contract (IMOC) MIS System. Analyses are performed at all levels for system products to include: concept, design, development, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints while maintaining quality and controlling risks. Represents the organization in frequent inter-organizational and external customer contacts. Maintains and reports project status to management including supporting standard contractual monthly reporting requirements. Provides SharePoint curator services and support to IMOC IMIS user/customers and other contracts required.
Work and Experience Requirements
Candidate must be able to analyze, design, and implement systems to improve/automate business and technical processes. Experience with the NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) technical and business processes is a plus. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Application suite, especially Excel, which is used to develop/deliver product/data to customers and for other internal processes. Experience with SharePoint is desirable. Candidate must be able to apply technical knowledge and operations concepts to exercise effective decision making and initiative. The candidate must be able to independently gather requirements directly from the customer in order to fully understand the scope and nature of the task/solution being requested. Candidate must be able to independently present technical information and design options to the customer in a clear and informative manner. Candidate should be a self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
Requires a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mathematics, Sciences, or Engineering (ABET) plus a minimum of 15 years of related experience.
