Maintenance Supervisor

  • Understands what PLC's are -ladder logic. Not programming but someone who knows what it is
  • Work on machines with heavy Horse Power?2000-5000HP
  • Someone out of a rolling mill, steel mill would work
  • Maybe heavy hydraulic or rolling equipment too

Endevis talent acquisition firm has been hired by a growing scrap metal leader to find a Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager will oversee all installation, repair and upkeep of the Ohio facilities. They will ensure that colleagues have the best physical resources available to complete duties according to budget. A successful Maintenance Manager will have a solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. They will be well-versed in all maintenance processes and health/safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting, etc.

Under the direction of the GM, the Maintenance Manager responsibilities include;

  • Promote a team atmosphere, health and safe work environment for all employees providing consistent and ongoing communication and direction
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance to all safety programs, requirements and practices
  • Communicate with and engage the team members on key operational strategies
  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers expectations
  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
  • Check mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of buildings and equipment to ensure functionality
  • Manage relationship with contractors and third-party service providers
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation actives
  • Allocate workload and supervise staff
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
  • Supervise the activities of the buildings maintenance personnel to ensure they maintain a clean and orderly facility
  • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
  • Effectively address performance concerns, discipline and recognition
  • Work with HR on employee issues

Professionals interested in the Maintenance Manager role, should have;

  • Proven work experience as a Maintenance Manager
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of facility machines and activity
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
  • Strong team building, decision-making, people management and the ability to create accountability by leading by example.
