The Maintenance Manager is directly responsible for improving performance by managing the preventative/predictive maintenance programs to produce top quality products.  The Manager works in conjunction with the Engineering, Production, and Finance departments in capital appropriation requests as necessary to provide continuous improvement efforts in maintaining and improving production equipment reliability upgrades.  Other responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager include proactive optimization of cost effective maintenance, reliability in business deliverables, ensuring a safe work environment, as well as providing technical training opportunities for all subordinates to increase skill and knowledge basis.  

Primary Responsibilities:

•        Develop and implement maintenance programs for maximizing machine uptime to increase manufacturing productivity

•        Makes analysis of cost for procuring necessary equipment

•        Track key performance indicators, uphold accountability to systems

•        Active in the review of machine safety and corrective measures

•        Work with management in establishing strategic plans for continued process improvements

•        Monitor, understand and implement new technologies to improve quality and efficiency

•        Purchase, expedite and install equipment with or without outside contractors

•        Drive key performance metrics, including 5S

•        Manages maintenance budget

•        Oversee the coordination of all work with outside contractors

•        Enhance and encourage a safe work environment plus active leader on plant safety committee

•        Completes other tasks and duties as assigned


•        At least two years of college coursework in a technical field required, Bachelor’s Degreepreferred, plus at least 5years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Automation/Robotics

•        Oversees technicians with various specialties, and inspects work for completion and accuracy

•        Demonstrates hands-on leadership and coaching abilities – able to demonstrate several examples of empowering, developing & motivating people

•        Strong analytical, planning, and problem solving abilities

•        Excellent organization and interpersonal skills

•        Excellent oral and written communication skills

•        Attention to the quality of work detail

•        Electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills

•        Able to function independently, exercises sound judgment and decision making

•        Hands on experience with PLC equipment

•        Hands on experience with operations and programming, robotics, and vision systems

•        Computer literacy/experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

•        Effective problem resolution skills combined with “big picture” awareness

Physical Demands:

•        Work normally requires a low level of physical effort in bending, lifting, and manual dexterity

•        Computer/telephone use is moderate

•        Occasional travel to attend meetings as needed 

•        Ability to stand for long periods of time is essential

•        Frequent walking
