Our Kalamazoo Container Division, which is located in Kalamazoo MI is a modern, fully equipped corrugated manufacturing facility that produces a wide range of innovative corrugated products from ordinary brown boxes to intricate die-cut inner pack to high graphic packaging. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance department, including but not limited to: managing the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing the maintenance budget and resources, and assisting in the design and installation of new systems or equipment. This position is responsible for managing multiple shifts of maintenance technicians. The ideal candidate will understand mechanical and technical work and have excellent leadership and communication skills.
· Perform maintenance management by supervising maintenance personnel and establishing priorities in maintenance schedules. · Maintain manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitoring purchase orders, invoice approvals, and manage the department budget. · Manage maintenance personnel by setting clear direction and priorities. · Ensure limited disruption to production activities through Preventive and Predictive maintenance, not reactive. · Perform other duties by coordinating with outside vendors and outside inspections; order new materials as needed. · Manage, maintain and establish maintenance procedures for production lines in a secondary food container manufacturing environment to ensure production meets or performs better than budget. · Maintain all company safety rules and ensure all maintenance technicians meet safety standards. · Manage proactively, communicating actual and potential issues to Production Manager. · Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities in the facility including analyzing equipment needs, reliability issues, and develop preventive/predictive maintenance programs. · Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities. · Coach, mentor, train and develop maintenance employees to meet current and future business requirements. · Performs other duties as assigned.
· Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products and processes. · At least 5 years of maintenance management experience in a supervisory role. · Proficiency in MicroSoft office programs, and applicable database applications. · Strong knowledge/experience managing maintenance through computerized maintenance management system (iMaint). · Effectively and efficiently handle both administrative and mechanical responsibilities. · Self-motivated, results-oriented, and excellent inter-personal skills. · Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
REQUIREMENTS · Associates degree or equivalent and qualified experience will be considered. · Strong verbal and written communication skills. · Ability to see color and distinguish colors precisely. · Ability to wear personal protective equipment. · Ability to utilize fine dexterity, and reaching, kneeling, crawling and twisting to inspect equipment. · Ability to lift, push or pull 50lb., sit at a desk, as well as navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.
