Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, The Maintenance Manager works as part of the Plant Management Team and will oversee all activities of the maintenance department. He/She will ensure maximum efficient operations of the facility and equipment through the direction of a technical support staff made up of supervisors, skilled trades, lead hands, store keepers, and maintainers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Design, implement and maintain preventive as well as predictive maintenance programs.

- Forecast future plant requirements to support production demands

- Direct the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and electrical & mechanical systems

- Develop and implement schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventative maintenance programs.

- Support the internal customer in areas such as equipment/line audits, overhauls and equipment conversion, initial runs, material substitutions.

- Interact with other members of the Company, Manufacturing, Corporate Technical Center, EH&S to develop strategies, resolve problems and implement solutions.

- Keeps up on technological changes such as retrofitting machinery to meet today’s new law and efficiency standards

- Manage the plant maintenance and Stockroom department and staff (salary and hourly)

- Prepare and administer department budget within established guidelines for maintenance and repair of building and equipment.

- Facilitates and supports EHS programs such as hazardous waste disposal program

- Works closely with Operations Management to ensure that production efficiencies are maximized

- Provide on and off-hour emergency response including; equipment repair, damage control, and assignment of support personnel as needed

- Administer contracts for the provision of supplies and services

- Organize and schedule Preventative Maintenance on all Equipment

- Forecast areas of training and development required for the efficient operation of the maintenance department.

- Liaise and co-ordinate with Suppliers, Contractors, and emergency services

- Lead and Participate in Accident Investigations, Root Cause Analysis, WCM Teams

Job Requirements

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

- Minimum of ten (10) years of manufacturing experience in positions of increasing responsibility including five (5) plus years in a management role including Maintenance Manager

- Proven analytical and problem solving abilities. Lean manufacturing knowledge and application.

- Ability to identify a final product that is not working or defective, troubleshoot the potential causes, and incorporate a solution for effectively resolving the problem

- Proven mechanical skills including the ability to use gauges, dial calipers, micrometers and other related instruments

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written as well as proven presentation skills

- Ability to clearly and effectively interact with internal and external customers on a variety of levels.

- Autonomous, dependable, self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision, flexible, win/win approach

- Strong PC skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).

Competencies:

- Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written

- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to effectively solve problems both on an individual and collaborative approach

- Working knowledge of principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations including SPC, Six Sigma, 5S, SMED and Lean Manufacturing

- Working knowledge of accounting and financial aspects of manufacturing

- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing operation.

- Must believe in the team approach to solving problems and must have proven success in coaching & leading teams to resolve specific problems

- Fundamental understanding of HR/IR laws, rules and regulations

- Ability to work in a fast paced environment

- Ability to organize tasks and set priorities while coordinating work with the work of others

- Ability to create employee training and development plans and willingness to act in the role of a mentor

- Demonstrated employee relations skills and the ability to motivate people

- Experience developing, building and maintaining strong business partnerships

- Strong relationship management, interpersonal, listening and communication skills

- Effective communicator in both written and verbal correspondence as well as an effective presenter.

- Strong knowledge of PC’s and software programs Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

- Strong work ethic and professional attitude

Preferred Requirements:

- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

- The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Working Conditions:

- Works in an office environment and a plant Environment

- While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.

- The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures

- The noise level is frequently loud
