This position is accountable for providing support which contributes to the efficient operation and continual improvement of the general facilities. The functional areas included are Facilities Planning, Facilities Operation, Maintenance, and Site Property Care including routine environmental reporting, monitoring and continuous improvement per the Saint-Gobain Corporation outline.
Provides leadership in assuring employee physical well-being and safety by the development, promotion and enforcement of an uncompromising safety attitude in both supervision and production employees. Maintains good safety practices measured by a safety record that exceeds and leads the industry.
Develop and implement TPM and AM schedules on all plant equipment. Develop Work Instructions explaining the needed maintenance to be done on the machine. Audit, track progress and post TPM measures and results.
Design and initiate a Training program (Maintenance) to effectively train associates and maintain current communication with them.
Contributes to the accuracy and effectiveness of the planning and goal setting process by developing, recommending, implementing and achieving operational plans, goals, budgets, and capital requirements.
Design, develop, initiate and present innovative engineering ideas for viable new equipment designs and mechanisms for production machinery to promote more efficient and profitable processes.
Supports the manufacturing activities of all products through maintenance of machines, spare parts, buildings, grounds and repair activities to meet customer schedule commitments within quality and cost objectives.
Select, train, develop, evaluate and motivate an effective workforce and continuously works to upgrade their skill level. In concert with Human Resources, develops and implements on-going skills assessment and training efforts, both on and off the job, to constantly upgrade the skill level of supervised employees.
The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of plant equipment and processes, plant engineering functions, applicable governmental regulations and safety procedures, usually gained through experience.
