Your role on our team

As a systems engineer, you'll have a key role in how our systems function. You'll service and support the company's technical infrastructure. Ensuring infrastructure availability, you'll troubleshoot and resolve issues and defects that affect system performance. Researching various issues, you'll make recommendations for solutions and continue monitoring processes to identify areas of improvement.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years or more of Mainframe experience. Knowledge of MVS, JES, CICS, DB2 and VTAM commands and must be able to perform system shutdown and IPL's and Stand Alone Dumps. Experience with ESP Job scheduler or similar, restart/recovery of batch failures and modify of JCL.

Must have qualifications

Associate's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related field and two years of experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems

Instead of a degree, four years related experience

Knowledge of IT operations, such as operating systems components, utilities, production schedulers and system environment hardware components (e.g., CPU, disk and tape technologies)

Knowledge of computer coding/programming languages and software development concepts

Knowledge of data structures, data management practices, system interaction patterns and interfaces

Basic knowledge of various corporate security rules, legal and regulatory obligations such as PCI, SOX or similar standards

Basic knowledge of vendor software integration and interaction patterns

Technical problem-solving skills with the ability to find successful resolutions for issues of basic to moderate complexity

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Organization skills and ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignments simultaneously

Listening, verbal and written communications skills

Ability to adapt to new situations and learn quickly

Ability to analyze data from various sources and determine next actions.
