Mainframe Developers will be a member of the delivery organization providing analysis, design, testing, enhancement, development, and providing production support for SDLC customers’ legacy systems.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for the delivery of Mainframe solutions including designing, developing, and testing applications
- Work with support teams from IT, Operations, and Business
- Analyze business requirements, write functional and development specifications
- Code solutions that meet the business requirements in a timely and accurate manner
- Follow and improve existing coding standards and best practices
- Capability to approach problems as challenges and deal with them positively and constructively
- Sets an example for team members in the following manner: hard work, a focus on client delivery, preparedness, organization, a positive attitude and respect for others
- Drafting technical design documents and technical specification documents preparation for the program
- Strong desire to understand and learn domain
KNOWLEDGE – Technical and /or professional information needed to perform job activities successfully
- Education - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, or Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 years experience in designing mainframe applications
- Strong COBOL, JCL, IMS/DB2, CICS, PROCS, TSO/ISPF experience
- Hands-on experience in IBM data structures, including sequential Files, VSAM, GDG
- Minimum 8 years experience in MQ and DB2 stored procedure
- Minimum 8 years experience creating and consuming data in relational database environments (preferably DB2, SQL)
- Proficiency in utilities such as SORT, Compare, IDCAMS, IEB utilities, DFSORT, REXX, Easytrive, File - Aid, SPUFI, Xpeditor, Abend - Aid, Panvalet / Changeman / Endeavour, Omegamon, Intertest.
- Experience in CICS web services preferred
- Extracting data from Mainframe to desktop using FTP
