As an ML Field Engineer at Cloudera you will be responsible for helping our customers, partners and field teams to bring speed, scale and agility into their processes for identifying and implementing data products using machine learning.

The field of machine learning is VERY broad and the ideal candidate should have a mix of some of the following:
This position requires a deep technical background, with a particular focus on big data systems and machine learning techniques, tools and frameworks. Cloud or virtualization experience is a strong plus, as is working knowledge of Cloudera and Hortonworks products. You deeply understand the needs and dynamics of a global enterprise sales team, and how to efficiently support them. You are additionally versed in modern digital marketing strategies and tactics.
You should be familiar with leading practices in the machine learning life-cycle, including data preparation for analysis, ML model selection, training and validation. We also expect that you have experience with preparing ML models for production deployment.
We value thoughtfulness, curiosity, creativity, and diverse perspectives. Most importantly, this position requires excellent written and verbal communication. We expect you to be able to present nuanced technical work to audiences that range from students to engineers to executives, with flair.
As a storyteller with both a business and technical background, you are comfortable communicating advanced concepts to diverse audiences. You will present our offerings to customers and at industry events and assist in creating and curating sales collateral and tools. Additionally you will help build and deliver a training curriculum to help Cloudera's field and partners share our machine learning vision, capabilities, and best practices with customers. You will directly support account teams on large opportunities and assisting with strategic opportunity planning.
