Effectively coordinate the efficient movement and control of materials in the arriving and leaving the facility. Provide leadership, training and direction to Shipping, Receiving and Stock Room within the Sandusky, OH facility.
Direct the shipping and warehouse personnel in coordinating daily activities.
Develop Departmental objectives on an annual basis that are in line with organizational goals. Continuously measured progress and take corrective action when necessary.
Ensure actual materials released for shipment with shipping documentation to ensure component, count, and lot control accuracy. Ensure that all customer commitments are being met.
Ensure shipping transactions daily and forward documentation to designated departments on a daily basis. Work with Customer Service representatives to resolve issues
Coordinate the shipment loading arrangements, and all domestic outbound transport activities. Determine best shipment method, prepare bills of lading for all outgoing shipments, generate shipping paperwork for UPS and FEDX shipments. Provide shipment tracking information as requested.
Active member of the Corporate Freight Council. Participates in rate negotiations with approved contract carriers for domestic and international shipment.
Ensure all inventory transactions are completed and the materials issued as the jobs are released to Shipping.
Minimize and support investigating Cycle Count corrections.
Ensure all receiving inventory transactions are completed for all incoming jobs within the appropriate time frame.
Bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain Management or other related preferred).
Must have working knowledge of import and export procedures, rate tariffs, and hazardous materials.
Must demonstrate negotiation skills, planning skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact with suppliers and co-workers in a team-based environment. Must have ability to handle multiple tasks, using evaluation skills and ingenuity to recommend solutions to problems in a high-mixed fast pace environment.
Language, Writing and Reasoning Skills:
Structured and well organized. Must be proficient in using the MS Office Suite.
5 or more years of domestic and international Logistics Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with import and export procedures, tariffs and hazmat.
Scope of Responsibility/Accountability:
Must have a high level of professionalism, management ability and accuracy to detail. Good judgment on development needs and ideal staffing of projects.
