Role purpose

  • Manages a staff of Logistics and Export Order management professionals and the associated budget for the department
  • Responsible for coordination of transportation partners and 3PLs to meet regional production and commercial sales needs
  • Creates a transparent and efficient process for movement (both import and export) of seeds and breeding material in compliance with national and international regulations.
  • Creates tools and training materials for operational processes for logistics and export activities
  • Manages international supply of export orders, including effective communication towards customers and internal stakeholders on availability and deliveries
  • Plans and deploys stocks to storage facilities consistent with sales and marketing goals
  • Ensures via appropriate governance bodies (GM Council, Quality Council, GM regulatory group) that all international movements are appropriately risk assed and residual risks are understood
  • Included in the responsibilities are outbound packaging quality, generation and issuance of certificate of analysis and coordination of mandated DOT training
  • Deliver the business in an optimized, effective manner
  • Scope:  Role includes Plant Logistics Management and the International Business Operations for Vegetables Seeds – North America

 

Qualifications

  Required Knowledge, experience & capabilities 

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Business or Logistics OR General/otherdegree supported by minimum 7+ years of logistics experience to include 3 years of leadership experience
  • 5 years minimum experience in Logistics to include at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Experience managing regulatory requirements impacting imports and exports
  • Process oriented with ability to applytechnology to the solutions of real business problems
  • Knowledge of distribution and inventory management systems
  • Knowledge of processes and systems related to international trade compliance
  • Experience with budget management and delivery
  • Experience with strategy and implementation
  • Experience being an ambassador within matrix organization and across differing functions, collaborative and solution oriented
  • International business experiencerequired

Preferred knowledge, experience & capabilities

  • ERP experiencerequired (SAPpreferred)
  • Understanding of plant pathology and international movement of biological products preferred
  • Agribusiness background is preferred
