TELUS is seeking a dynamic, business-minded litigation/employment lawyer to join its legal team in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal on a full time basis. This motivated and team-oriented lawyer will support TELUS on a wide range of litigation and employment law matters including legal support to the People and Culture team on all aspects of employment law matters and legal support to all TELUS business units on claims and commercial litigation.


Required Knowledge:

  • Three to six years of broad commercial litigation and employment law experience with a law firm or corporation
  • Experience in one or more of the following subject areas:
  • wrongful dismissal
  • human rights
  • contractual disputes
  • commercial litigation
  • claims litigation
  • privacy law
  • insolvency law
  • telecommunications law
  • law enforcement agency production orders

  • Strong legal and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work well in a team setting
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing situations and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on critical goals and strive for superior results
  • Effective in scheduling priorities to maximize productivity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency in French would be an asset

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • Law degree from a recognized university; preference will be given to candidates who hold both a common law and civil law degree
  • Successful completion of Articles
  • Successful completion of Bar Admission course
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia or Le Barreau du Quebec
  • Membership in the Ontario or Alberta bar would be an asset
