One of the top hedge funds it seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join the Systems Administration team. The successful candidate will have a wide array of technical experience in the Linux ecosystem, with a strong focus on RHEL.


  • Research and recommend innovative products, services and solutions for both existing and emerging needs
  • Improve system installation, configuration and disposal procedures
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards; create and maintain documentation
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of Linux systems: installation, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and retirement/disposal
  • Effectively resolve requests from developers and Infrastructure: new Linux desktop and server installations, software deployments, troubleshooting connectivity issues, additional NFS file systems, et cetera
  • Engage in periodic reviews of performance analysis and capacity planning to ensure we can meet computing needs without constraining business growth
  • Review interoperability to ensure integration with other key systems
  • Maintain an infrastructure that showcases your ability to deliver world-class service for a rapidly evolving firm


  • 7+ years relevant experience working in information technology, with experience in the financial industry
  • Demonstrated experience managing RHEL-based Linux systems
  • Experience with Ansible or other Configuration Management solutions
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud solutions
  • Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and technologies
  • Experience automating task with python, bash and PowerShell
  • Familiarity with high-performance systems would be preferred such as 25 Gb networking, scheduler and other kernel optimizations
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and diagnostic tools
  • Familiar with Windows operating systems
  • Experience with authentication and authorization technologies such as Kerberos, Oauth and saml preferred
  • Automated build, deploy, test and provision experience
  • Experience with CI/CD including tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, Artifactory, Service-Noe
  • Experience monitor both infrastructure and applications with tools like Splunk, New Relic, Datadog, Zenoss
  • Experience with managing storage platforms like Netapp, Pure, Amazon S3preferred
