About the role

The Information Systems team supports our platform services globally and the Linux System Administrator is responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting Linux operating systems and the hardware that supports it. The System Administrator will evaluate and install patches, resolve hardware or software related problems, and ensure that the data and applications that run on the systems is always available, secure and protected.

WEX is actively working to build out its cloud presence and we will provide you with the opportunity to develop your AWS skills through training and hands on projects.

Also, you will participate in after-hours project or maintenance work (nights & weekends) and share on-call responsibilities with other team members.

In order to be successful in this role, you need to be able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. You must be a self-starter and professional who can successfully bring projects to closure with a minimum of direction, guidance and oversight. You also need to be able to manage and balance your time between strategic and tactical activities.



  • 4+ years of experience with Linux servers
  • Scripting skills
  • Good understanding of IP networking, routing, VLANs and Fiber SAN technologies
  • Possess strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with system management and monitoring tools


  • Experience with VMware ESXi a plus
  • Experience using Amazon Web Services
