Job Description***This is a 100% work from home position*** Job Summary:

  • This position will represent the Enterprise ICT Organization in a engineering role
  • Implementation and maintenance of server systems

This position requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures relative to server systems and the ability to lead a team of Engineers/support personnel, manage complex projects and retain overall responsibility for the health and well-being of the Linux server Responsibilities:

  • Implement new and maintain existing Linux infrastructure
  • Implement and maintain Directory Services and Satellite systems
  • Monitor performance for all responsible server systems
  • Monitor and maintain system security to ensure system integrity
  • Must be punctual
  • Take direction and work well with others
  • Work in both a team environment and by yourself
  • Work with and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately while meeting applicable productivity measures
  • Must follow change management procedures
  • Participate in presentations in a technical role, answering technical questions and offering appropriate solutions
  • Coordination of technical and non-technical resources (both internal and external) as necessary to provide solutions
  • Train and share knowledge with less experienced IT personnel
  • Work with vendors to design and build proposals for both existing and new infrastructure
  • Take the lead on any project-based work relating to the Linux environment

Qualifications:

  • Min 2-5 years' experience with all current RedHat/CentOS Operating Systems
  • Min 2 years' experience solely with Linux Administration/Engineering
  • Min 2 years' experience with Enterprise Class Server and Storage hardware
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Current Certified Engineer certification (Preferred)
  • Scripting (PERL/BASH) (Preferred)
  • ITIL v3 (Preferred)
  • Puppet, custom build kernel modules (Preferred)
  • Basic SuSE SLES, Katello and Free IPA knowledge (Preferred)
  • Windows Server knowledge (Preferred)
