Education Advisory Board is seeking a Linux and Atlassian Administrator/Engineer to join the EAB Technology team.  This individual will build and support enterprise Linux and Atlassian systems infrastructure and services within EAB’s AWS ecosystem.  This position will play a key role in facilitating the organization’s rapid growth by ensuring that all product-facing AWS cloud infrastructure systems and technologies are implemented and maintained in an optimal manner.

This opportunity is based in Washington, DC.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Primarily support JIRA administration involving creation and management of custom, complex projects, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards and report configurations
- Design, implement, and maintain Atlassian and other systems (JIRA, Confluence, SCM, CI, etc.)
- Lead minor and major Atlassian upgrades, as well as schedule and coordinate maintenance for those systems
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network related issues, provide quick resolution to problems and participate in finding root causes of issues and may work on action items to prevent future occurrences
- Setup projects and repositories, including read/write access in SCM
- Install and maintain Atlassian add-ons, plugins, and extensions
- Provide user management and support for 4,000+ users, manage system access across groups to ensure compliance and maintain best practices
- Collaborate effectively with other technical and development teams to exploit new technologies to enhance the applications and service infrastructure
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various other Linux-based systems
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise – participate in root cause analysis and work to prevent future occurrences
- Monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability and security
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems on an on-call rotation basis
- Act as an escalation point for junior staff and the NOC team
- Mentor junior staff

Must Haves: 
- Hands on experience with AWS 
- Experience in Linux configuration and administration  
- 3+ years of professional experience in large scale enterprise and/or hosted environments
- 2+ years of experience supporting the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, SCM tools)
- Ability to perform installation and upgrade of Atlassian tools in a AWS Linux server environment with MySQL and PostgreSQL relational databases
- Familiar with Java, Apache Tomcat, Linux (CentOS, RedHat), and Certificates
- History of successful Atlassian implementations, migrations, and upgrades
- Demonstrated ability to automate tasks through standard IT scripting technologies on Windows and Linux (PowerShell, Perl, Python, cron, etc.)
- Experience in a 24x7x365 data center and with cloud/SaaS technologies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with collaborative team skills
- Ability to think critically and solve complex issues
- Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Experience working with classified information such as PII, and financial data
- Able to work scheduled and on-call rotations (rotation will include weekends and holidays)

Even Better: 
- A bachelor’s, or higher, degree in a technical field
- 5+ years of experience implementing and supporting fault tolerant, highly available systems solutions in a multi-tier environment
- Experience in Agile methodologies
- Experience supporting database servers, including PostgreSQL and MySQL
