We are looking for Linux Administrator for our client in Jersey City, NJ

Job Title: Linux Administrator

Job Location: Jersey City, NJ

Job Type: Contract 12 Months

Job Description:

  • Level III Technical support for resolving most critical technical issues
  • Identifying performances bottlenecks and take adequate measures to rectify faults
  • Patch Administration -- Adding / removing patches as per requirements
  • Installation/Kernel updation or client OS patching on Red hat servers as client required
  • Redhat server installation- physical and virtual
  • Working knowledge on Linux Oracle RAC clusters
  • Conversant with OCFS2 and GFS2 filesystems
  • User Administration and ACL concepts
  • Good understanding of Application dependencies in Linux/UNIX and Solaris OS
  • Proactively monitoring the Servers health and taking preventive or corrective action as required
  • IPTables
  • Redhat Clustering
  • Server tuning and strong knowledge of kernel level troubleshooting
  • Should have good communication and customer interaction skills.
  • Global exposure in large environments
  • Kickstart Environment Management – Develop Standards & Policies, Set Images, develop/Maintain scripts.
  • Service Management – NIS/NIS+/DNS/NFS/Samba/Send Mail
  • Security Administration – Add/remove/Troubleshoot Security Policies.
  • Device Management – Installing & Configuring devices.
  • Syslog & Log management
  • Documentation – Systems/tool/Service management documents update
  • Process related activities, Scripts Maintenance & creation for day to day administration tasks
  • Knowledge of Remedy or any ticketing will be a plus
  • HPUX knowledge or overview will be additional plus
  • High Availability & any OS cluster
  • Trouble shooting issues & performance management
