Position Overview:

Harris is seeking a career level professional who desires to work in an environment where nothing is routine! This position will work with other leaders to contribute to the administration and vendor management of the U.S. absence management programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage leave of absence vendor and serve as the central point of contact for the enterprise for all leaves of absence, including: FML, State Family Leaves, Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, Military, General, Paid Parental and Paid Time Off
  • Develop leave of absence policy recommendations, including integration of other company benefits (e.g. Paid Time Off)
  • Write and update company policies and prepare materials to educate employees and HR professionals on leave of absence processes
  • Develop root cause analyses and recommendations for process improvements
  • Collaborate with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and third-party administrators to implement new policies, regulations and plan rules
  • Serve as liaison between leave of absence third party administrator, legal counsel and HR, addressing and resolving all escalations
  • Liaise with the HRIS team to implement automated processes
  • Present leave of absence metrics to management

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in business management, finance, accounting, human resources or related field
  • 6 or more years of administering leaves of absence
  • 2 or more years of supervisory experience required

Additional/preferred qualifications

  • 2 or more years of demonstrated successful project management experience
  • Ability to navigate complex issues while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Strong demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Expert computer skills, especially in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and customer service skills to effectively follow-up on complex and detailed work activities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information
