The learning experience strategist knows how people learn and designs experiences to help them learn better. The learning experience strategist is passionate about shaping a culture of learning within organizations and building effective training practices and experiences. A successful candidate should have a strong foundation in instructional design and technology along with a desire to drive innovation.


The learning experience strategist works closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts, applying research-based learning strategies and adult learning best practices into their designs. He or she will also help develop other members of the training team through coaching and by leading internal educationevents.


This candidate will guide their designs from inception through launch and evaluation. He or she must exhibit the highest level of expertise and knowledge in the design, development, and advancement of quality learning experiences.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities - {list of significant responsibilities and essential duties that must be completed in order to achieve the objectives of the position}


  • Develops and implements strategic initiatives to advance maturity of learning design
  • Works across departments to determine current and future direction and facilitate collaboration
  • Uses quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and issues related to instructional design; creates and implements strategies and recommendations for improvement and resolution
  • Models excellent instructional design practices and efficient course development processes, contributes to the improvement of learning design through innovative solutions, and mentors others on the team on best practices and processes
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure timelines and deadlines are proactively met, assisting with instructional design work
  • Designs and delivers learning experiences to achieve robust learner outcomes
  • Stays current with trends, innovations, research in learning science, instructional media, and learner behavior
  • Analyzes learner responses and provides recommendations for learning experience improvements


    • Strong experienceapplying design strategies informed by learning and behavioral sciences, instructional design, and interaction/web/eLearning design principles
    • Experience in all aspects of developing and implementing learning experiences / eLearning
    • Strong project management skills and “hands on” tactical management of learning experience / product development; Agileexperiencepreferred
    • Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills
    • Experience with qualitative and quantitative primary research methods
    • Proficiency in e-learning design tools, such as Adobe Captivate and/or Storyline
    • Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong attention to detail and a feeling of pride and ownership over the quality of our learning experience



  • Master’s degree or higher in relevant field
  • 5+ years of successful and innovative design of adult learning
  • Heavy consideration given to candidates sharing a strong portfolio of work
