Learning and Development – Program Manager at The D E Shaw Group in New York, NY

The D. E. Shaw group seeks an experienced professional to join the firm’s Learning & Development (L&D) team to focus on leader/manager development, professional skills, and mentoring. In this role, you’ll be part of an inclusive and engaging working environment and will collaborate extensively with other members of the innovation-focused L&D team, business stakeholders, and external vendors and partners.

What you’ll do day-to-day

This individual will have operational responsibility for a significant portfolio of the firm’s leadership and manager development programs and will also design and execute mentorship programs. You’ll work with internal and external partners to determine program structure, customize programming, facilitate select programs, drive communication strategy, manage participant experience, track key indicators, and measure impact.

Who we’re looking for

• Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or higher with an impressive record of academic and professional achievement, along with five to ten years of professional experience, some of which will have been in a Learning & Development capacity. An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus but is not required.
• Expertise in L&D program development and operations is vital, particularly in one or more of the following areas: leadership and management development, professional skills, and/or mentoring.
• Sound judgment, communication, and project management skills are essential, as is impeccable attention to detail.
